Review: Missha All Around Safe Block Essence Sun SPF45 PA+++
Missha All Around Safe Block Essence Sun SPF45 PA+++ is one of the popular Korean sunscreens for dry skin. It is a chemical sunscreen which is not drying as it does not contain drying alcohol and Zinc Oxide. It has a moist sun cream formula which feels like a moisturizer. In addition, it is really affordable and Missha is a very trustworthy Korean brand with many hit products.
Missha All Around Safe Block Essence Sun SPF45 PA+++ is recommended for those who want a sunscreen that has a moist finish and does not contain high concentrations of ingredients that would dry out the skin such as alcohol and Zinc Oxide. Thus, it is ideal for those with dry skin or dehydrated skin.
Those with oily skin might be able to use this sunscreen comfortably without using any moisturizer underneath. In addition, this sunscreen is also recommended to those who are looking for a sunscreen that does not leave any white cast. This is because this Missha sunscreen a chemical sunscreen.

Missha All Around Safe Block Essence Sun SPF45 PA+++ is a chemical sunscreen without any physical filters at all. The sunscreen provides broad spectrum UV protection with reliable sunscreen filters. Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate (Octinoxate) and Phenylbenzimidazole Sulfonic Acid (Ensulizole) protect well against UVB rays, while Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate (Uvinul A Plus) and Bis-Ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine (Tinosorb S) protect well against UVA rays. Missha sunscreens always have reliable sunscreen filters in my opinion.
Missha All Around Safe Block Essence Sun SPF45 PA+++ Review
Missha All Around Safe Block Essence Sun SPF45 PA+++ is a sunscreen that has a thick white cream texture. It blends into the skin without any white cast. The sunscreen does not feel heavy at all. However, it is really hydrating and not super oily, and the face will not feel tight at the end of the day.
With its Double Layer Polymer technology, Missha All Around Safe Block Essence Sun SPF45 PA+++ provides long-lasting, water and sweat resistant UV protection. Nevertheless, it is not strongly resistant against water and sweat as this sunscreen is meant for daily use instead of for sports activities. The great thing about this sunscreen is that it removes easily with a facial cleanser so there is no need for double cleansing to remove this sunscreen.
I really love the light texture and moisturizing benefits of this sunscreen. I have been searching for an affordable chemical sunscreen to use daily. I want an affordable sunscreen because I use up my sunscreen quickly so using a cheap sunscreen would enable me to do that without feeling guilty. I prefer a chemical sunscreen as I am not fond of Zinc Oxide which tends to dry out my skin that is prone to dehydration.
Unfortunately, I have sensitive skin, and this sunscreen makes my skin feel a little bit itchy and cause red rashes on certain areas of my face. The itchiness and rashes goes away completely after some time. However, I don’t feel safe using this sunscreen so I just pass it on to my friend who uses it without issues.
I have cross-checked the ingredients of many sunscreens, and I have come to the conclusion that the ingredient I’m sensitive to is Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer. At first, I suspected it was the sunscreen filters but I have used them in other sunscreens without issue.
Then, I suspected that it was the BHT which caused me the skin reaction. However, I found out later that it is an ingredient in Isehan Co. Mommy! UV Aqua Milk SPF50+ PA++++ which I’m not allergic to. Finally, I figured out that Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer is the most likely culprit. This ingredient is also present in other sunscreens that have caused me red rashes and itchiness such as Isehan SUNKILLER Perfect Strong Moisture SPF50+ PA++++ and A’PIEU Pure Block Natural Daily Sun Cream SPF45/PA+++ .
Therefore, if you have very sensitive skin, this sunscreen is not the one for you. Otherwise, this is a great sunscreen for those with dry skin. Many people use this without issues and call it their Holy Grail sunscreen because it is cheap and not-drying. I’m the unlucky one with very sensitive skin and could not use this. Regardless, I would still recommend it to dry skin individuals because many people have successfully used this sunscreen without negative reactions.
